One of the county’s largest marketing and display printers, Inprint Litho in Southampton has achieved FSC chain of custody certification with BM TRADA.
Manager Paul Serellis said, ‘There are now nearly seven billion people on the planet and our forests need careful management if they are to continue to meet the increasing demands placed upon them, not only by us, the consumers, but also by the communities which depend upon them for their livelihood. Chain of custody certification is an important step in doing this.’
‘Under the FSC system, raw materials are tracked from the forest to the consumer,’ Paul explained. ‘The FSC logo on our printed materials is evidence that the it originates from certified, well-managed forests.’
Established more than 20 years ago, Inprint has a loyal customer base. Clients include print management companies, large corporate businesses, universities, local government, design agencies and many small local businesses. ‘It is important for any business to keep abreast of current trends and the need to demonstrate environmental awareness and commitment is vital. We aim to deliver quality service, on time delivery and the highest quality print. Now we can do so with a clear environmental message to our customers and their clients.’
Inprint has recently signed up to the Carbon Balanced Paper initiative, which allows organisations to reduce the carbon impact of their marketing communications. Paul added, ‘Tackling environmental issues may seem overwhelming for any individual or company, but if we all take whatever steps we can towards a greener environment we can start to make a difference.’
